While I loved my work as a nurse, I knew that the size of the tasks before me required growth and change. To mitigate burnout, I also began scuba diving, and trained as a Recreational Scuba Instructor. There is nothing quite like big nature, to keep you anchored firmly to what is important and diving taught me about the power (and challenges!) of presence and connecting deeply to the body.
These skills would become invaluable to my work today.
When I became a mother at 35 years of age, I suffered eighteen months of harrowing and immobilising depression, and was unable to receive any help beyond medication. For eighteen months, I was unable to enjoy my new son, my husband and a life which by all accounts was indicated to be a good life!
In the end, it was the enduring support of my husband, his family and my own mothers' love and nurturing that brought me back to myself as a new mother. This taught me viscerally about the power of love, connection and deep attunement; lessons which endure and deepen today.
Between my 20's to 50's I survived two major traumatic incidents - one on a cruising yacht in a storm, and a second while scuba diving. As someone adept on and in the ocean, I was horrified, my confidence shattered, while grateful to have survived. It was in my late 50's after studying to become a psychotherapist, and spiritual psychology, I sought my own therapy to address trauma.
It is this therapy that was successful, that I now use daily in my clinical practice, which helps hundreds of people and can help you.
As a Clinical Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trauma specialist with 14 focused years in this profession and forty years of combined study and a rich life, I believe that my textured experiences as a mother, nurse, global traveller, student and athlete, provide me the rich basis to fulfil my destiny as an insightful and dedicated therapist that understands deeply as well as somatically, what is needed.
I have come close enough to death myself working closely with nature, to live more fully and assist you to do the same.

Each person has the authority to author their own healing journey free from reductionist and limiting diagnostic labels.
When the body is actively engaged on purpose and with intention, the client experiences intuitive and embodied truth that is undeniable. This changes everything.
The human heart is elevated to its rightful place in your life - the word 'love' is given its true purpose and meaning and you will be shown how transformative engaging the heart muscle in your daily life really is.
Together we engage mutual, truthful and ethical standards, that provide a strong foundation. It is integral and fair that your therapy with me should have a sound beginning, a truthful process, and a resolute ending.
